Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. Before you have any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine. For women: this medicine is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby. It has been reported that tricyclic antidepressants enhance amphetamine effects. Using these medications with diethylpropion may cause high blood pressure or irregular heartbeat and may decrease the effects of blood-pressure lowering medications (guanethidine). Tenuate may alter the effects of diabetic medication. Tenuate and a barbiturate taken together may antagonize the effects of both drugs. Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) decreases Tenuate elimination. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) increases Tenuate elimination. Store Tenuate at room temperature away from heat, light and moisture. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children. Before you begin taking any new medicine, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Don't share this medication with others.
