Many people who are interested in improving their cellulite conditions want to know what new cellulite treatments are on the horizon. One such treatment is known as non-invasive body contouring. While this treatment utilizes ultrasound, the medical modality is still awaiting FDA approval.
There are many different cellulite treatments available today. Throughout the years, mankind has struggled to find a successful approach to dealing with this skin affliction. Some treatments have shown promise, while others tout that they are overnight miracle cures, usually postulated by any one of several anti cellulite skin cream manufacturers. Most of these formulas, however, have been shown to be ineffective. Generally, this skin condition affects women more often than men. This accounts for why women are responsible for the majority of sales of cellulite creams, herbal wraps, yoga therapy, liposuction, endermologie, and dermabrasion. Presently, there is no universal answer as to the most successful way to help treat this condition. Some medical authorities maintain that various combinations of different therapies will result in the most satisfactory results. Some people have wondered if cellulite can be treated successfully through diet. The late Dr. Robert Atkins maintained that carbohydrates in the form of breads, pastas, potatoes and rice cause an increase in blood sugar levels. In addition, the extra calories from these food sources are stored in our fat cells and cause us to gain weight. Many people consume white flour products often found in breads and pastas. These foods are found to be nutrient dense and are low in fiber. Low-fiber diets can often cause digestive problems and this can lead to problems with elimination. Some theories have been postulated that cellulite is caused by improper elimination resulting from low-fiber diets. Consuming refined sugar foods, such as cookies and pastries, can be detrimental for those suffering from cellulite since the high saturated fat content and sweeteners will cause a toxic overload in the fat cells. It is well established that as we gain weight the appearance of cellulite will become more pronounced. These toxic food substances are not only bad for the skin but, in time, may also bring about the onset of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. One helpful diet that has been proposed for those with cellulite consists of eating whole foods. The foods included in this dietary regimen are eaten in their natural state, preferably raw. A raw foods diet is basically vegetarian in nature and includes fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, soy products, nuts and seeds. This particular type of diet emphasizes the importance of heating your food to a temperature of 120 degrees or less, since overcooking will destroy the foods nutrients. Fruits as well as some vegetables should be eaten uncooked, while grains and legumes can be boiled or lightly steamed. In this type of diet, fried foods are to be eliminated. Other dietary choices to help treat cellulite include the addition of fish, poultry (without the skin), lamb, fruits, vegetables, whole grain low carb pastas and breads. Desserts, occasionally eaten and made with whole grain flours and sweetened with stevia, barley malt or brown rice syrup, are considered acceptable. By adhering to a healthy diet with the proper calorie reduction, you can begin to lose weight, tone your body, and improve the appearance of your cellulite condition. Many people who are interested in improving their cellulite conditions want to know what new cellulite treatments are on the horizon. One such treatment is known as non-invasive body contouring. While this treatment utilizes ultrasound, the medical modality is still awaiting FDA approval. Ultrasound uses sound waves to help disrupt fat cells below the skin and helps to target hard to treat areas such as the thighs, stomach and buttocks. At this point in time, there are no scientific studies to validate the potential benefits of this type of treatment for cellulite. It should be noted that medical sources have stated that this type of treatment may take up to a year or two before it is accepted into mainstream medicine. Those of us who cannot afford the current medical cellulite treatments available can utilize a treatment plan that has been shown to help reduce and prevent this condition from getting worse. Here are some tips on how to do that. Firstly, you can take part in an effective aerobic exercise program which can include jogging, swimming, and speed walking. Riding a bicycle and ice skating are beneficial cardiovascular exercises and are effective at strengthening the thighs and buttocks. For those of you who would prefer to exercise at home, you should consider purchasing a rowing machine. This type of exercise is beneficial since it helps strengthen muscles in our hips, thighs, and buttocks. Secondly, through diet and exercise you will be able to lose weight and eventually maintain an option weight for your height and age. As we get older, it is better for us to maintain an optimum weight or be slightly underweight so that we will not put added stress on our cardiovascular system. Thirdly, we should consume enough water each day. The requirement of drinking 8 glasses of water a day may not be enough for those of us who engage in strenuous exercise. Some reports maintain that we should consume at least 3.7 liters of water daily. Most importantly, we should consume water that is purified through reverse osmosis or drink bottled water. Drinking enough pure water each day is an effective detoxifier since it will help flush out toxins from the body. Fourthly, you may want to consider joining a gym and working with a personal trainer. Ask him or her to devise an appropriate aerobic exercise program for you. The use of free weights and the various machines found at gyms can help tighten and firm the muscles in your abdomen, thighs, legs, and buttocks. Fifthly, you should consider using herbal anti cellulite creams and oils on a regular basis. These products can help increase circulation and smooth the skin. Some beneficial anti cellulite herbs are gotu kola, bladderwrack (derived from sea algae), ginkgo biloba, and the essential oils of lavender, juniper, and chamomile. Lastly, for those of us who do not have cellulite we can practice preventative treatments by avoiding junk foods, engaging in a regular effective aerobic and anaerobic exercise program, effectively controlling stress, and using natural herbal body lotions and oils. We should not discount the fact that modern medicine has brought about beneficial treatments for several skin conditions. Until we have a successful treatment for cellulite, we can utilize the best nature has to offer, along with diet, exercise and the addition of the different medical treatments available to effectively reduce and improve the appearance of this skin condition.
