If you are seeking information, depressed, bed ridden and bored, confined to the house, or maybe in hospital with Internet access and nothing to do, you'll meet a lot of new friends in our chat rooms. Chatting to people in similar circumstances and sharing experiences with other men and women from around the world can often help alleviate anxiety and depression as you realize you are not alone, and many others also feel the same way and suffer similar pain that you maybe feeling. IMPORTANT NOTE: The information and any advice published or made available through the Disabled World web site including our chat rooms is not intended to replace the services of a physician, nor does it constitute a doctor-patient relationship. As these chat rooms are used by patients in hospitals, retirement homes, and rehab centers around the world you are required use language and chat topics consistent with the community standards. It is a condition of entry to our chat rooms that you first read our Chat Rules. If you see a red X below or cannot see the chat room login please try these solutions to chat problems.
Unfortunately due to the huge amount of time and resources required running the chat rooms, the Disabled World chat will be closed for awhile.
Our new chat communication system incorporates several rooms all in the one area. These rooms consist of: The Lobby - This is the main disability chat room for those with health issues wishing to meet and chat with one another. When you first enter the chat this is the room you will be in. You can change rooms once you are logged in. Dating Chat - A room for those seeking partners or to discuss affairs of the heart - NOTE: This is the only chat room on Disabled World where you are permitted to discuss dating matters. Veterans Chat - This chat room is for disabled veterans from all countries who wish to meet and discuss health and disability problems and issues relating to veterans affairs including Army, Navy, Marine, Reserve, Airforce, Coast Guards, and National Guard Veterans. Private messaging, text resizing, text color changes, plus many other handy features are available in this chat room.

Subject: MS + Depression
Hello to all, am new here and wouldn't you know the room is shut down! I am slipping into a pretty bad depression, I know myself very well and know what's coming. I, too, cannot afford a counselor. Sometimes I get mad and wonder if they really want to help or are only in it for the money. They have to live, too, I guess I'm a little jaded by the MS and depression. Sorry. My anorexia is also kicking in and I really need to vent and just hear that I'm not alone in this black hole I have found myself in. I'm lucky to take a shower once a week, sooo down, even I am starting to worry. Hope someone will help us chat soooon. May God lift us all up and give us strength. June 14, 2009 - 14:28

From what I hear all disabled chatrooms are closing. Its a real shame!!
