Ahava Access Inc. has been in the business of providing disability transportation since 1986.

We are governed and operate under the New York State Department of Transportation Authority, New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, New York State Department of Criminal Justice, New York State Department of Health, New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission license and we are also members of the New York State Ambulette Association.

Our company provides door-to-door disability transportation service and has transported over 60,000 individuals over a period of 1 million trips, which demonstrates our repeat customers enjoy our service and that’s our best recommendation. We currently service over 2,500 different medical facilities including doctor’s offices, laboratories, treatment centers, nursing homes, hospitals, medical centers and mental institutions.

In addition to medical transportation we also service a large clientele base of private customers that use our service for a wide variety of functions. This can include courthouse appearances, ship terminal transportation, airports and railroad arrivals and departures as well as personal celebrations. And if you wish to become the ultimate New York City tourist, visiting Broadway shows or musicals or any kind of tourist attraction New York City has to offer, we can help. We have also had special cases where our clients preferred to be driven long distances out of state rather than fly. We are happy to provide service 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all your transportation needs. We welcome same-day and advanced reservations anytime.

Our Fleet:

Our fleet consists of 20 high top vans, with a seating capacity ranging from 4 passengers and 2 wheelchairs, or a total of 5 wheelchairs and 2 passengers and 14 passengers for a group service.

All vehicles are high top and specially equipped with hydraulic lifts making entering and exiting the vehicle less strenuous and worrisome for our clients. The van is also equipped with dual climate control to create a more comfortable experience while reaching your destination, and of course seatbelts are provided for all passengers and wheelchairs for additional safety. The Department of Transportation regularly inspects the vehicles and are maintained to the manufacturers and Department Of Transportations’s specifications. Additionally, if requested we offer wheelchairs that come in different varieties, ranging from a regular size wheelchair, to an extra wide wheelchair as well as a reclining wheelchair for added comfort. Unfortunately, there are still some locations that are not wheelchair accessible, in such cases we provide 2 or more men at those locations to carry down our clients, so no such barriers can stop our clients from experiencing everything life has to offer.

Communications:

Our main dispatch base is fully computerized and connected by a satellite to each vehicle equipped with a GPS (Global Positioning System) tracker. This technology allows our office to see in real time where the vehicle is and at what speed its traveling at as well as allowing the main office to provide supplementary directions if need be. In addition each driver is equipped with a Motorola two-way radio and is in constant and continuous communication with the main office.

All current and advanced reservations are entered in the system as they are received and automatically scheduled for a specific pick up time to ensure we never loose a reservation. All pertinent information on patients, clients and medical facilities involving their trip records are maintained permanently on our system and meet the standards of the Department Of Health and HIPPA.

Drivers:

All drivers are licensed and tested by the New York State Department Of Transportation and New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission. We believe that drivers are an important part of any reliable transportation service. Our drivers are carefully chosen and thoroughly trained by an experienced staff-driver-instructor and are all uniformly dressed. In addition our drivers have been with our company for consecutive years with a very low rate of employee overturn. Our management closely supervises all drivers and their performance to ensure they meet the standards of our company and regulations of the city and state.

Commitment:

We thrive to provide the best service to our patients and clients in need of our service. Thus, our quality control reports show that our clients are satisfied and happy with our service.
