Florida Disability Statistics - There are an estimated 2,675,000 people in Florida who have a form of disability, or 16.5% of the population over the age of five. Approximately 491,000 people, or 3% of the population, experience difficulties with performing activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, or moving around inside of their homes. There are around 1,487,000 people in the state of Florida who have a form of work disability, and 477,000 people with disabilities in the state are employed. Around 73,000 people with disabilities in Florida are unemployed, and 2,499,000 Floridians with disabilities are currently not in the workforce.
