- Life expectancy among women in Newfoundland and Labrador between 2005 and 2007 was 81 years, while for men it was 76 years.
- In 2008, men and women in the province lost 9.8 days of work due to illness or disability.
- The year 2009 found 178,715 males in Newfoundland and Labrador with a regular doctor, while 208,480 females did. The same year also found 35,210 males experiencing a form of arthritis in the province, and 59,974 women experiencing the disability.
