New Tool to Help Visually Impaired Perform Online Banking

A new web accessibility tool recently launched by TD Canada Trust and TD Waterhouse improves the online experience and access for customers with visual impairments. The Web Accessibility Toolbar allows people with limited vision or with eye fatigue to customize the appearance of Web content. User-friendly features include the ability to quickly and easily adjust font sizes, change color contrast, magnify all or a portion of the screen, and have text read aloud with adjustable speed and volume control.

Irregular Arm Swing Could Indicate Parkinson's Disease

Irregular arm swings while walking could be an early sign of Parkinson's disease, according to neurologists who believe early detection may help physicians apply treatments to slow further brain cell damage until strategies to slow disease progression are available. Parkinson's disease is an age-related disorder involving loss of certain types of brain cells and marked by impaired movement and slow speech.

U.S. Department of Social Security Sending Corrected Benefit Notices

The Social Security Administration earlier this month mailed notices that contained incorrect January 2010 payment dates. These erroneous notices went to about 6 million beneficiaries who receive their payments on either the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of each month, and are part of the annual benefit notices that go to 52 million Social Security beneficiaries.
