Careers in Skilled Trades and Technology - Alberta Canada

Mr. LaVar Payne, Member of Parliament for Medicine Hat, made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development.

Shops and Services Still Failing Customers with Disability

Two in five (40%) disabled people have experienced difficulties accessing goods and services in the last twelve months, with around a quarter of all disabled people (23%) directly identifying their experiences as discriminatory, according to a major new report by a leading disability charity. The report, based on research conducted by Ipsos MORI for the charity Leonard Cheshire Disability, finds that disabled people continue to face issues like poor accessibility and a lack of appropriate facilities in premises, as well as difficulties in using public transport.

Wound Healing Discovery May Help Diabetics

A new discovery about the wound-healing process could lead to better treatments for diabetics and other patients who have wounds that are slow to heal. Loyola University Health System researchers found that certain immune system cells slow the wound-healing process. Thus, it might be possible to improve healing by inactivating these immune system cells, said Elizabeth Kovacs, PhD, who heads the laboratory team that made the discovery.

Scientists at Northumbria University in the UK have just published a double-blind, peer-reviewed study in the journal, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, which concludes that a relatively modest dose of this compound in the form of one or two capsules may just do that.
