Indiana Lupus Support Group Meetings

The Lupus Foundation of America (LFA), Indiana Chapter, a support organization for people with lupus, has added a new local group.

Meetings are free and open to anyone interested in learning more about lupus, as well as, anyone living with a chronic condition. The LFA, Indiana Chapter has formed this group for those living with lupus, as well as, their family members and caregivers. It is estimated that there are more than 3,000 people living with lupus in Lake and Porter Counties.

The group allows its members an opportunity for a healthy exchange of feelings, opinions and thoughts while coping with this very complicated illness. Meeting programs vary from guest speakers to video presentations and open group discussions.

Support group meetings are held at St. Mary Medical Center 1500 S. Lake Park Ave., Hobart. Meetings are free and open to the public.

The Lupus foundation of America, Indiana chapter provides awareness and education for the signs and symptoms of lupus for early diagnosis and treatment. Volunteers from the chapter facilitate support groups meetings in Lake and Porter Counties as well as Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Richmond, and Evansville.

Support group meetings are free and provide lupus education as well as peer support.
