Danger of Fluoride in Drinking Water

These days I know why you don't want fluoride in your drinking water, but I sure didn't when I was given fluoride in elementary school. It was some kind of experiment or test. Each student was given a small cup with fluoride in it to swish around in our mouths and then we would spit it out. We didn't understand what it was, we just did what we were told. If I remember correctly, our parents had to sign a consent form, but they didn't really know what it was either.

It was some kind of experiment or test. Each student was given a small cup with fluoride in it to swish around in our mouths and then we would spit it out. We didn't understand what it was, we just did what we were told. If I remember correctly, our parents had to sign a consent form, but they didn't really know what it was either.

It's true, though, fluoride is a poison. Consider this information from Carol S. Kopf, BS, MA:

Now over 62% of US water supplies are fluoridated and so are the foods and beverages grown, bottled and manufactured with that water. There's a glut of fluoridated dental products on the market, both over-the-counter and by prescription. Fluoridated pesticide residues remain on foods, medicines contain fluoride, and air is polluted by fluoride from industry.

What's more horrific is that the chemicals most used to fluoridate drinking water are silicofluorides, contaminated waste product of industry, that were never safety tested on humans or animals.

Data from lead screening of over 280,000 children in Massachusetts indicates that silicofluoride usage is associated with significant increases in average lead in children's blood as well as percentage of children with blood lead in excess of 10 ug/dL.

Approximately half of each day's fluoride intake will be retained. This is what makes it so dangerous. "The dose makes the poison". All sides agree to the fact that healthy kidneys can eliminate only about 50% of daily fluoride intake. The rest gets absorbed in calcified tissues, like bones and teeth."

That's scary stuff!

How does fluoride get in the water?

Answer: Most often as a byproduct from the fertilizer, aluminum and other industries, who manage to sell this toxic waste to municipalities nationwide.

Fluoride derives from fertilizers and aluminum, and other industries? ! How can this be? How can this be in our drinking water? How can this not be making us sick, even if we don't realize it?

According to the handbook, Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products, fluoride is more poisonous than lead and just slightly less poisonous than arsenic. It is a cumulative poison that accumulates in bone over the years. According to the Physicians Desk Reference, "in hypersensitive individuals, fluorides occasionally cause skin eruptions such as atopic dermatitis, eczema, or urticaria. Gastric distress, headache, and weakness have also been reported. These hypersensitive reactions usually disappear promptly after discontinuation of the fluoride."

No organization has done more to promote fluoridation than the American Dental Association (ADA) since they first endorsed the measure in 1950.

Ironically, prior to this endorsement they had been very much opposed to the idea. An editorial in the Journal of the American Dental Association in October, 1944 stated:

"We do know that the use of drinking water containing as little as 1.2 to 3.0 parts per million of fluorine will cause such developmental disturbances in bones as osteosclerosis, spondylosis and osteopetrosis, as well as goiter; and we cannot afford to run the risk of producing such serious systemic disturbances in applying what is at present a doubtful procedure ..."

And they added:

"There is no margin of safety, and that with their present knowledge or lack of knowledge of the chemistry of the subject, the potentialities for harm far outweigh those for good."

Would you believe?

98% of Europe's drinking water is fluoridation-free * the fluoride added to Irish drinking water is toxic waste from the fertiliser industry * the assertion that fluoride is good for teeth is a myth - in fact countries with the best dental health do not fluoridate drinking water * there is enough fluoride in a tube of toothpaste to kill a small child.

This is alarming and should make anyone stand up and take notice. Please keep tubes of toothpaste away from small children, and consider purchasing a good water filter.

More on the dangers of fluoride

I have worked in the engineering field where I handled water projects in an administrative position and saw what is involved in water systems. Since retiring, I am speaking out about dangerous chemicals and procedures regarding our drinking and bathing water.
