Eating Raw Food

Eating raw food is nothing new. Raw food is simply food that is uncooked and unprocessed, so eating raw food is just eating food in its natural state. If you have eaten a piece of fresh fruit or a garden salad, then you have eaten raw food.

In its natural state, food is full of active enzymes, which is why raw foods are often called "living foods."

Enzymes are natural compounds found in raw vegetables and fruits, seeds and grains that aid in digestion. Cooking food above 112 degrees Fahrenheit destroys enzymes. Preparing food with low or no heat helps enzymes to remain intact and the food remains "live" which means healthier food with more nutrition.

Diet

A large percentage of medical disorders in the world today are diet-based. A wide range of common problems from allergies and acne to obesity related illnesses can be overcome by eating a raw food diet. Raw foods can help you to achieve a healthy body-mass index, clear up your skin, and have a lot more energy.

Eating a good variety of raw foods may even help your body to feel more satisfied with less food, because the nutrients in raw foods are so perfectly balanced. There is no need nor desire to overeat. By eating raw and living foods, you can enjoy tasty, guiltless meals that satisfy your appetite and still cause you to lose excess weight quickly and healthily.

Eating raw food is also the best means to get the nutrition your body needs to maintain your youthfulness. It allows your digestive system to clean itself out and then heal and rebuild itself. Eating raw food and drinking extracted juices from fruits and vegetables, allows efficient absorption of nutrients into the bloodstream, giving you a vibrant, glowing complexion.

Organic Foods

Organic foods are grown without the pesticides, chemicals, genetically engineered growth hormones, irradiation, and antibiotics so common in the meats and produce sold at most grocery stores. Organic farms do not use harmful chemicals to grow their produce.

Organic vegetables may have up to twice the usable vitamins and minerals> as regular vegetables. Living, raw, organic foods contain enzymes, vitamins and fiber that are lacking in cooked foods and are the purest, healthiest food for your body.

The Raw Food Glow

Raw food is all about getting "the glow", looking and feeling incredible and living longer by preventing (and sometimes even reversing) disease. Allergies and skin conditions like acne tend to clear up.

Raw food is full of the minerals and vitamins your body needs to be its best.

Raw food is for everybody, not just kids and health fanatics.

Restaurants and stores are beginning to cater to raw food customers more all the time.

In fact, with so much interest in its benefits, raw food is evolving into its own delightful cuisine and there are many recipes freely available on the internet and in raw food "uncook" books.

Try it for Yourself

Anyway, why take my word for it? Try it for yourself. If you are just beginning to hear about raw food and are not sure where to begin, don't think you have to do a ton of research to get started. Make it easy by gradually adding more raw foods into your diet.

Eat healthy fruits for breakfast instead of cereal or eggs.

Eat salads with every main course and reach for raw fruits, nuts or seeds when you want a snack.

Raw seeds and nuts also add texture and protein to vegetable dishes. You will reap enormous benefits even if only half of the food you eat is raw.

Eating raw foods will increase your energy, reduce your weight, detoxify your body and boost your immune system. Once you try it and see and feel the difference for yourself, you will naturally want to keep adding in more and more.
