DIG Coaching Practice presents Attention Talk Radio with host and attention coach Jeff Copper in an interview with Nancy A. Ratey, an internationally recognized authority on coaching adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
In this episode, Jeff Copper and guest Nancy Ratey discuss her new book, entitled, The Disorganized Mind: Coaching Your ADHD Brain to Take Control of Your Time, Tasks, and Talents, and offer valuable insight to individuals diagnosed with or impacted by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Nancy Ratey is one of the founders of the ADHD coaching profession and has been active for two decades in developing programs and lecturing on issues related to ADHD. She is a past president of the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) and has been influential in designing and implementing the first comprehensive training programs for ADHD coaches. Her work continues to shape and direct the field of ADHD coaching. She has served as chair of the national committee that created the Guiding Principles for ADHD Coaching, the pre-eminent document in the field. She is also a Master Certified Coach and Senior Disability Analyst.
Ratey is co-author of two books and writes extensively on coaching and ADHD topics. She and her work are often profiled in the media, including ABC, CBS, NPR Radio, and national publications such as Wired, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, The Boston Globe, and The New York Times.
Her most recent book is entitled, The Disorganized Mind: Coaching Your ADHD Brain to Take Control of Your Time, Tasks, and Talents. Having dyslexia and ADHD herself, Nancy Ratey engineered her own road to success, having graduated from Ohio State University and then going on to Harvard University where she earned a master's degree in education, specializing in administration, planning, and social policy.
She has also served on professional advisory boards of several leading ADHD organizations, including Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder (CHADD), is a current board member of the Edge Foundation. She has also developed and delivered programs for various organizations, including Harvard University, Dartmouth College, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
