The best way of learning anything is to enjoy it. Enjoying the process of learning will help you in maintaining your interest in the subject.

There are many tips that can make your task of learning very easy. Some of the most common tips of enjoying digital photography are:

Get a cheap camera: It is always better to buy a relatively cheap camera when your main intention is to experiment with it. But even if you buying a cheap camera, you must look for few things in it like optical zoom, computer connectivity, memory card support, adjustable shutter speed, in built features etc.

LCD view screens: Probably the greatest feature of digital cameras is the fabulous LCD screen that allows for real time preview of pictures as you take them. One of the best and most practical digital photography techniques is to make sure to utilize the LCD to its fullest potential by previewing each each picture and making sure it is perfect, if it's not just click delete it and re shoot.

Get friendly photo software: Usually you will get separate software with you digital camera. Even if you don't get it, you can get them from outside as they are readily available. This photo software allows you to edit the pictures you have taken by altering different characteristics of the pictures. It will be a really interesting and enjoyable experience for you since the possibilities are endless.

Get more memory cards: it is always better to have more memory cards since if you are experimenting and enjoying your digital photography then it is very likely to happen that you will use all the space available in the memory card in use. In order to continue this enjoyable process of learning, it is advisable to have more than one memory cards with you. Instead of film, digital photography uses memory cards to save shots. A good digital photography technique that can prevent lots of regret is to always have back up memory with you. There is nothing worse than missing that great shot because there is no more storage available in your camera.

Photographing Candles: Imagine that you are taking picture of a birthday girl blowing the candle. Often the candles are your only light source. When this happens, you will want to increase the ISO setting and slow down the shutter speed (if you are using a compact digital camera, this will be done automatically) of your camera so that more light can be pass into the camera.

Try to get a digital camera with image stabilization: If you don't have that feature then here is a digital photography technique to get clearer pictures without any blur. Hold your hand steady when taking pictures to prevent it from shaking and moving. Also, it is better to hold your eye up to the optical viewfinder when taking pictures, rather than the electronic viewfinder. This helps you to see exactly what your capturing and also helps to keep the camera steady when taking pictures.

Experiment with zoom: the best way to enjoy digital photography is to play with the zoom of the camera since it will help you in bringing objects closer to you, even someone's eye or nose. It has been observed that most beginners enjoy the option of zoom in their early process of learning the art of digital photography. Zoom in to emphasize a certain asset or characteristic of the subject being captured. Avoid getting too large of a focus shot, evaluate what you want to capture and focus in on that image, avoiding backgrounds like buildings and landscape, this will give you clearer and better pictures of the object you want.

White balance: A good digital photography technique for shooting bright landscapes and outdoor portraits is to change your white balance setting from auto to cloudy, this will yield brighter and clearer shots. This will give a warming filter on your camera and increases the reds and yellows resulting in richer and brighter pictures.

Focus: Because digital cameras can take slightly longer to focus than film cameras, a good digital photography tip to avoid blurry and out-of-focus shots is to half-depress the shutter button until the camera has had time to lock the focus, and then completely press the button to take the actual shot.

Get a group: to enjoy the process of digital photography, it is recommended to go out in a group and share the pictures you have taken with other fellows of your group. It will motivate you and keep you enjoying the process of digital photography.

Accessories: Take all the necessary accessories of digital cam with you all the times you are out for digital photography, having all the accessories gives you a feeling of professionalism and you will enjoy the process.

Polarizer: Another digital photography technique is when using a polarizer, be sure that the source of light is perpendicular to the object. If you do not have polarizing filter capability then a good digital photography technique is to use a quality pair of sunglasses. Place the sunglasses as close to the camera lens as possible, then check their position in the LCD viewfinder to make sure you don't have the the sunglasses rims in the picture.

Built-in features: most digital cameras come with exciting built-in features like cartoon frames, black & white color, tint, inverted image etc. You will enjoy your digital photography if you experiment with all these built-in features.

Practice is probably the best tip: The best digital photography technique is to practice using your camera. Get to know it and all the controls and what they do. Take lots of pictures and analyze what works best with your camera and soon you will be an expert with your own list of digital photography techniques.
