Given the significance of the pending legislative session, opportunities to learn and educate future Capitol decision makers are essential to move Minnesota forward.

The 2011 Minnesota legislative session likely will be defined by the $5 billion dollar forecasted budget deficit. It will be a session of tough choices and potentially devastating cuts to essential programs for the disability community. To prepare for the session, the Minnesota Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (MN-CCD) is hosting a series of candidate forums across the state to give citizens the opportunity to learn where candidates stand on issues that impact people with disabilities, communities and the state.

Planned forum topics include health care reform, employment, education and transportation. Forums will include prepared 'big issue' questions and written questions from the audience facilitated by a moderator. Each candidate will have equal time to answer questions.
