The eight-week series kicks off on October 8 and will run from 4:00pm to 5:30pm PST on Thursdays.

The Course

The course will be divided into three sections: Scene work from contemporary TV shows and films, commercials, and hosting.

Every student will be given the chance to find his or her footing and flourish by absorbing essential rules and through hands-on practice in each area. The goal is to have fun expressing what's inside of us through the art of acting. The course will be free and is designed for individuals with physical disabilities between 11-18 years old; registration is available at https://angelcitysports.org

The course will be taught by J.B. Waterman, a long-time supporter and volunteer for Angel City, who has been teaching acting for several years at the prestigious Los Angeles conservatory Gary Spatz' The Playground. In addition to teaching, Waterman worked as a professional actor for 15 years in commercials, film, theatre, voiceover, and as a host. He is also a lecturer at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, narrating their planetarium Star Shows for audiences.

"We are honored to have J.B., a professional acting coach, create this class for us. Our Virtual Acting Workshop will allow participants to access their creative side and learn skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives," said Clayton Frech, founder of Angel City Sports.

Added Waterman, "Sport has always been an important part of my life and I really appreciate the work Angel City is doing to create equal access to athletics. With this acting class, I get to combine two of my passions, teaching acting to youth and working with Angel City athletes."
