Main Document

Wounded Warriors Canada is proud to host the 2015 Heroes Hockey Challenge in Toronto. This year's event will see Canadian Armed Forces members from the Toronto Garrison faceoff against the Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni.

Heroes Hockey Challenge (HHC) is a series of charitable hockey fundraising events that take place annually in communities across Canada that combines two Canadian icons - Canada's national sport of hockey and the world's finest Armed Forces members.

This unique, family-friendly entertainment event raises funds to support our ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, their families, and families of the fallen.

HHC events have been held in Calgary and Vancouver in 2012, Abbotsford in 2013 and Edmonton in 2014, raising more than $200,000 to date.

In its fourth year, the Heroes Hockey Challenge continues to place our nations military heroes in front of their hockey heroes. This has proven to be an extremely powerful experience for all involved and most importantly our men and women in uniform.

The hockey game will take place on Friday, March 27th at the Mattamy Athletic Center at the Gardens. Doors open at 6:00pm.

Tickets are $17 each (plus fees) and available now for purchase online via Ticketmaster:

Peter Ing, Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni President commented,

"It's an honor and a privilege for the Maple Leafs Alumni to participate in the 2015 Heroes Hockey Challenge in Toronto. The Maple Leafs have been proudly linked with our country's military throughout the hockey team's long history. This terrific event gives us great satisfaction knowing that our support will aid the members of the Forces and their families. It should be a wonderful evening of hockey and entertainment at the home that Major Conn Smythe built!"

Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada, commented,

"Having attended the Abbotsford event in 2013, I witnessed first-hand the powerful impact the Heroes Hockey Challenge has on our Canadian Armed Forces members and their families. It is an honor to host this event in Toronto and we are very grateful for the support of the Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni and the Mattamy Athletic Center at the Gardens for helping us make this event a reality."

Glenn Cumyn, HHC Founder, commented,

"I am so honoured and excited to bring the Heroes Hockey Challenge to Toronto where the Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni, Coached by Stanley Cup winner and Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Mr. Johnny Bower, will face off against the HHC Warriors from Garrison Toronto.

The Heroes Hockey Challenge is an exciting family evening in support of our ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, their families, and families of the fallen. This year's event promises to be the best ever, held at an iconic venue, with a few big surprises that should not be missed."
