New Paradigm for Web Accessibility

Amaze represents the next generation of accessibility software. Using a patent-pending approach, the Amaze software platform provides sites with an Accessibility Overlay: a layer of accessible user interface elements that replaces any inaccessible parts of a web page.

For example, a site might have a customer service form with a mislabeled "submit" button that makes it invisible to a customer who is blind and using a screen reader. The traditional approach to correcting this bug would be to go back to the source code, reprogram the form, and then perform testing to confirm that the bug has been fixed. If the web site is not scheduled to be revised within the immediate future, the bug will remain a barrier to users for a lengthy period of time and potentially place the organization out of compliance with accessibility guidelines.

With Amaze, an Accessibility Overlay can be created that fixes the bug immediately, without having to reprogram a single line of source code, resulting in a solution that is rapid and cost-effective to deploy. The Amaze Accessibility Overlay can then be used as a guide to update the site's source code when it comes time to revise the site.

Amaze can also be used to make third-party web sites accessible, a feature that is truly revolutionary.

Organizations today typically operate their own web site while also relying on a range of third-party web resources and services to engage customers and employees; a Facebook page, for example, or a customer service portal or embedded maps.

Companies might be successful in making their own web site accessible, but, until now, there has not been any means of making other web resources they use accessible for everyone. Amaze Accessibility Overlays can be created and applied to any third party site that a company wishes to make accessible through an easy-to-install end-user plug in.
