Introduction

Affiliate Marketing is defined as a marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's own marketing efforts. An affiliate is someone who joins a free network or for more prestigious products or services signs a contract or agreement with the online business to promote their products or services using an affiliate link. The business will pay the affiliate a percentage from the sale that was made through their affiliate link.

It can be difficult (but certainly not impossible) to have a career when suffering from a disability. There can be difficulties just getting to your workplace, never mind all the adaptations that may need to be made once you are there. Then there could be medications, special diets etc. that also need catering for. Worried employers may not even wish to employ you in the first place, as they just don't understand your issues. It can be very difficult. I would like to tell you about affiliate marketing as another route to a career.

Affiliate marketing is a great alternative to traditional employment. You work for yourself, and you can work from home. All you require is a PC and a minimal amount of cash to start. I'm talking way less than $100. There are ways of starting without spending a penny.

Affiliate marketing is basically where you sell other peoples' products online for a percentage commission. Usually (but not always) they are non-tangible digital goods, like books, MP3s, software downloads etc. The beauty of this is that there are no hassles with buying, storing, posting and packaging goods. You don't even need to spend any time processing sales. All sales are made automatically. You can even make sales while you are asleep.

How Does It Work?

There are many ways to sell affiliate products online, but most people set up their website or blog and sell from there. They provide valuable content to others, to attract visitors. Once you have some visitors, then it is time to make some cash! You first join an affiliate program. Once you have joined, you are typically provided with an affiliate link that is uniquely yours. You then put this on your site or blog. When someone clicks on this link, they are directed to a sales page for the particular product you have signed up to sell. If they make a purchase, you are automatically credited with a percentage commission for the sale.

Nearly all affiliate programs are free to join. The only things you need to pay for are hosting your site or blog, but like I said earlier, there are other ways to sell for free. With a little persistence and some freely available information, you can make your own blog or website for nothing. If you have the resources, then you may wish to pay for a website or blog to be made for you - the choice is yours.

So you can literally have your own international business that you run from your home for way less than $100. It is like running a store, except you don't have to pay for rent, electricity, wages etc. You can't really lose. Plus, the whole world is your potential customer.

Earning Potential

I will be totally honest with you that many people don't make much money affiliate marketing. They usually give up after a few weeks or months, before they have built up a successful foundation. It takes time to earn good money. It is not like a traditional job in that sense. When you first begin working, you get paid. With affiliate marketing, you frequently have to work for several months for little or nothing whilst you build up your business. However, if you just keep going, the money will eventually come.

The earning potential for an affiliate marketer is massive. There are plenty who make 6 and 7 figure incomes per year. Unlike a traditional job, there is no ceiling to your earnings. As you grow your business and your experience, your income is likely to continue to grow. With time and determination, there is no reason why you can't join these high earners. After a while, you can get yourself in a position where you are earning excellent money for just a few hours of work per week.

Lifestyle

Once you have built up a good income from affiliate marketing, you can enjoy a great lifestyle. You can earn money on your terms from the comfort of your own home. If you wish to take a day or two off, you can do so whenever you choose. If you want to go on a long holiday, you can do it. You can take a laptop and work from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection. You can work yourself up to a point where you have little financial and time restrictions in your life.
