Applications are being accepted for female veterans, and other veterans to receive free job training, career and education guidance, job search assistance and other specialized services from the Institute for Social Renewal, a new program funded by Veterans Support Organization.

Computer training classes that enhance job skills and qualifications are being offered at the Institute for Social Renewal new state-of-the-art facilities. ISR is a new Veterans Support Organization Training Center opened March 2, 2010 designed to provide services to veterans who have been suffering from chronic homelessness and/or un-employability.

The Center works with a wide range of businesses and organizations, including employment agencies for veterans and persons with disabilities. VSO also expects to provide OJT training to over 200 in 2010.

The ISR is located at 31 South Street, Suite 1E. Mount Vernon, NY 10550, and is a non-profit, community-based organization that has been helping veterans and their families to become self-sufficient since 2001. Services are provided at low cost or no cost.
