M.D. Nicholson Biography

M.D. Nicholson(1) was born in Brooklyn, New York in March of 2000, where he was originally misdiagnosed at the age of four years old with speech delay. As he grew up, he developed social and educational issues, and eventually suffered emotional scars due to many instances of bullying by many of his peers and others in the online world. In 2012, his real diagnostic came up of being on the autism spectrum. While this provided an explanation for some of the difficulties he had faced, it was still a tough journey ahead. Despite all of the obstacles he encountered thus far, Michael refused to let them define him, and he persevered in a world mostly designed for neurotypical people. He then graduated with full honors from the Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design in 2018.

After spending a year at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, he transferred to the City University of New York (CUNY) Lehman College in 2019 where they provided a better support system during his college journey, which allowed him to earn his summa cum laude BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Computer Imaging in December 2023. Currently, he is waiting for his graduation ceremony scheduled for May 30, 2024.

Michael is an artist and writer at heart focusing on character creation and design. He delves into different mediums such as comics, illustrations, short stories, and books. As an emerging science fiction writer, he develops his own unique narratives by drawing inspiration from literary luminaries like Ray Bradbury and Stephen King while also being a big fan of comic storylines and how Stan Lee created characters designed to emulate people in incredible situations.

Furthermore, he pursued his passion and thus started PuzzleHeart Inc. in 2023 with the visionary idea of showcasing innovative dystopian worlds where things are not meant to be black and white, but instead different shades of grey, and everyone has an opportunity to shine in their own unique way. To accomplish that, PuzzleHeart's mission is to entertain, inform, and inspire people around the world through the power of creative storytelling produced by gifted neurodivergent individuals in multiple mediums such as books, animation, films, games, and other works of art.
