Persons with disabilities, including youth, older adults and veterans, are benefitting from the information ILCSC is providing for emergency resources for:

Clients are connecting with staff remotely, gaining first-time experience in using Zoom to connect with ILCSC classes. This has led to clients using it to also socialize with their families and one another while they must stay at home, preventing isolation. Client Intakes are taken by telephone.

Social Media is an important link to clients and the community, where up-to-the minute information is passed along to our followers on Facebook and Twitter (clients, individuals and organizations), as well as other social media participants around the world.

The ILCSC offers a wide range of services, including Advocacy, Cross-Disability Peer Support, Housing Assistance, Emergency Services, Information & Referral, Systems Advocacy, ADA Training Workshops, Independent Living Skills Training (ILS), Vocational Training, Computer Skills, Horticulture, Job Placement/Job Coaching, Community Transitions, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Services, and more.

The ILCSC would like to take this opportunity to thank the seven Centers for Independent Living (CIL) in Los Angeles County and 380 CILs across the United States for their hard work and dedication in providing essential services to Americans with disabilities during this unprecedented emergency.

Since 1976, the Independent Living Center of Southern California, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, has been providing a wide range of services to a growing population of people with disabilities.

The ILCSC is dedicated to providing the services which offer the opportunity to seek an individual path toward independence, while educating the community.
