The Vancouver 2010 Olympics and Paralympics are Winter Games. The sports that you will see will be primarily winter sports. The Canadian Olympic committee will make arrangements for facilities both indoors and outdoors.

Skiing will undoubtedly be a popular draw at the 2010 Olympic Games. At the Vancouver 2010 Olympics you will have the opportunity to see alpine skiing and alpine Paralympic skiing.

They will also have Olympic and Paralympic adaptive skiing in the cross country, and biathlon events. In addition to these, you can view freestyle skiing, Nordic combined, ski jumping, and events like snowboarding.

Skiing is not the only sport that will be available for you to watch at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. There are other outdoor events like skeleton, bobsleigh, and luge.

In addition to the outdoor events, the Canadian Olympic committee will also have indoor facilities set up for events like curling and speed skating.

Two popular events you should make time for while you are attending the 2010 Olympic Games are ice hockey and figure skating. If you are an ice hockey fan, you may also enjoy ice sledge hockey.

Hockey is a huge draw for the Olympic Games because fans get to see some of their favorite International sports stars playing the sport in another arena.

Figure skating is by far one of the largest draws to any winter Olympic Games. If you are interested in figure skating there are plenty of events at the 2010 Olympic Games for you to watch.

There are competitions for ladies', men, pairs, and ice dancing. They also host an exhibition for fans to view after the competition has come to a close.

Celebrate the Vancouver 2010 Olympics

Tradition will not be forsaken when the Olympic Games open in Vancouver. The winter Games in 2010 will kick off with a fantastic opening ceremony that is already well into the planning stages.

If you attend this ceremony you will be a part of the true Olympic experience. The ceremony will be held on February 12th at Vancouver's magnificent BC Place.

In addition to the opening ceremony, you can attend Olympic Victory Ceremonies each night to celebrate the athletes who have won on that given day.

The nightly Victory Ceremony will be held each night at the Whistler Olympic Celebration Plaza. Thousands of spectators are expected to attend each night.

Tickets for the Winter Olympics

You may be surprised to learn that some tickets to the upcoming winter Games have already been sold.

That said, the Canadian Olympic committee has stopped selling tickets temporarily.

You can purchase tickets again in mid-2009. There will be at least 100,000 tickets available for $25 and half of all the tickets for sale will be less than $100.

When you are planning your trip to the Vancouver 2010 Olympics there are a few things to keep in mind.

Plan your event schedule wisely so that you have plenty of time for the events you have tickets to.

In addition, get a list of non-sporting Olympic events and Olympic venues so you can maximize your Olympic experience.
