My story:

I was fed up with pinning my straw to my pillow and forever losing it, or it moves just out of reach, especially at night because I hate waking my carer up or getting stressed out trying to find it. And, you all know how important drinking is!

So I came up with the "sturdystraw" which I think is awesome!. It's a tube attached to a bendable support with swivel clips and attached to a "clamp" which will attach to loads of worktops, beds, tables, desk's, lap trays even wheelchairs.

Once it is in position it will stay there, it's so light and portable I even took it to Download Festival and attached it to the camp bed. I can now help myself to a drink anytime or anywhere in my house, providing my beaker is full! The support is only 5mm thick and comes in lots of colours!

Fact, three patients are rushed to hospital every single week because their care home has let them get so thirsty that their health is put at risk, 'shocking' figures have revealed. Last year, at least 168 pensioners were left so dehydrated by staff who are supposed to care for them that they had to be admitted to a hospital ward. The number is just the tip of the iceberg because the statistics only include those admitted with a primary diagnosis of dehydration. It means that hundreds of others may have been noted in records as having been admitted with a different condition, even though they had been left severely thirsty. "Daily Mail - July 2013"
